Subject description: My first voxel

This is my first voxel, it's a hovercraft type thing for Nod. I personally am going to use it for my 3rd race made up from things I made and have downloaded off this site.

I made this voxel off the top of my head and I'm pleased with it. the only problem is ingame it's quite small and too bright to be a Nod vehicle. The missiles (the red bits beside the cockpit) aren't recolourable, blue missiles will never look right. It's not a masterpiece but I certainly think it's a good start. Smile

Edit: Added Auto Normals (updated pic and download).

2 words, auto normals.

Use them in the voxel editor, it makes it look way better.

Never mind, I just messed around with VXLSE and found it instead of looking for instructions. It looks great, thanks! Ill post new stuff soon.

I've just finished doing a black recolour and will be uploading it soon. Before that I would like to know how to change the hover height of vehicles to be almost on (if not then lower to) the ground so it will be more like an actual hovercraft rather than a hover vehicle. I' not going to make it amphibious because hovercrafts don't sink into the water and the movemet of a hover vehicle is so much more realistic fo a vehicle that skims acros the ground.

Here's the hovercraft in black, it certainly looks more Nod-tastic. The lighter version is still avaliable for download. I made sure the grids on the top and back were still visible and the grey around the edge of the cockpit is now red.

The hoverheight is in the rules.INI, just open it up in notepad, hit
control F and search for hover.

Do me one favor, NEVER USE JPG WITH COMPRESSION FOR VOXELS! It makes it hard to see ingame Wink
