If you changed palette result will be bad Mad
You must also edit VOXEL.VPL

@PD change UNITSNO.PAL and see result

"and I first ,who try to find purpose of this file"

Wrong. Everyone who has worked on a Voxel Editor has tryed to crack it.

The general thought is its something to do with the lighting since Voxels definatly use the .pal files for the 'Base' colour(as in the colour the voxel has without lighting applyed).

I know that RA have different lighting and more Normals.. I dont like how RA2 normals are messing with voxel color. For example unlike in TS, in RA2, South-East side of voxel will always be white (or too bright).. no mater what color i ve used. So can it be fixed with VOXEL.VPL editing?

VOXEL.VPL have another data
Test it: change the dword with offset 8 in HEX-Editor from 32 to 16 for example- it's funny

Tried using usual methods Sad
But I see information about it in EXE file Smile
So I have more info about it
It have:
1. Header
2. Palette
3. Some Data 256 * Header + 08h
So file size 8976 = 768 + 256 * 32 + 16 Smile

It's a binary file. Edit it with a hex editor and not with a notepad.

Libary begins with L. Lighting begins with L. Looser begins with L.

In general extentions have 3 letters. Programmers generly try and stick to 3 letters just cos everyone else does...

that supports the theory that it has to do with how lighting is done based on the normals.

=1 makes sense, as that's just like 3D normals. It just makes sense, as you can't have light without dark...
