Im trying to make a mod on Generals. Im using Gmax to make units.
When i save the units they save as xxx.gmax (x is the name of save file.).
I don't know how to insert the units into the game and when i use xcc mixer to find generals units all i find is files called xxx.w3d or something like that and no xxx.gmax. So please tell me how to insert units in to Generals.

You have to convert your .gmax units to .w3d.

Use the Renegade Public Tools to do that.

yes, you will need to get the Renegade Public Tools (go to westwood ftp site and under renegade) you will need to install RenX to your gmax to enable the correct skinning and exportation. You may also need some knowledge of INI coding... which differs a good amount from older TS and RA2 ini styles (which was a tad simpler)

Just read a whole bunch of tutorials, and if you have any questions or concerns post em up.

Ok so I converted my .gmax files to .w3d with RenX like I was told, but how do I insert it into generals so i can see it in the game? In the older games you would put it into a expand file but what do u do in generals?
