( ) making airplanes fly parallel to the ground
this tutorial is rated zero ( ) stars, it's easy as pie
I mostly wanted to post it as an FYI, as it's not often used or known about
I see alot of awesome plane voxels out there, but in game they're flying nose down, which is very awkward looking.
It's OK for a helicoptor of course, because of the rotors -- but a plane flying nose down, in reality, would obviously crash into the ground.
Well you're in luck! there happens to be an unused tag that you can use to control the angle at which the aircraft flies...
Quote:
PitchAngle = Amount that non-FixedWing aircraft pitch forward in degrees (default=20.0)
>To make the plane fly PARRALLEL to the ground like it should, simply insert PitchAngle=0 into its rules.ini entry.
>The greater number you put to the PitchAngle, the further it will rotate towards the ground.
>Unless you put the PitchAngle in the entry, the game will automatically make it fly 20 degrees facing the ground, like a helicoptor would.
>A PitchAngle=90 would make it fly vertically, like slave I in Star Wars
Here's a comparison, the top planes are flying PitchAngle=0 like they should, and the bottom one shows how they'd look without an edited PitchAngle.
