I downloaded the demo, and found out it required a new driver from my 8800 Nvidia card.
Well, no problem. Why not? Right?
Installed the driver and turned on the game.
I put graphics on max quality and started the demo.
There are no words to describe what I saw, maybe except for: I almost pissed myself.
I rubbed my eyes to make sure I saw what I saw, and than I restarted the game just to see the intro movie again.
I think you'll have better understanding of what I mean when you play it.
To those who already did: Is it not the best shooter you've seen in your life? QUICK_EDIT
I got the Xbox live demo a few days after it came out and nearly went and ordered it straight away. Then I noticed that the shop had the PC version for £15 less so I decided to wait and make sure my PC ran it fine then buy it.
I downloaded the PC demo with steam at 1ish this morning and everything ran fine (1280x960 res with everything set on high - gonna try higher than that if it exists in a second), so I've ordered it.
I love the 50s art deco thing that they have going on, I think it looks fantastic.
I love the way the adverts and little videos are in that 50s info film cartoon style.
I really like the look of the Big Daddies too, even if the name makes them sound like some sort of pimp. You don't see enemies looking like old diving suits too often.
I hadn't read up on the game at all but thought I might aswell check out the demo because there seemed to be a lot of hype so I had no idea about the setting or anything. My jaw genuinely dropped when the projector screen in the bathysphere rolled away and Rapture was revealed - I don't think a game's ever done that to me before within the first 5 minutes.
There's no two ways about it, the gunplay was crap.
But who gives a toss about guns when you can go all Emperor Palpatine on people and/or set them on fire (amongst all the other things that weren't in the demo)?
The clincher for me is that, from what's said in the demo, they appear to have bothered with a story that's an actual story with things to find out. As one of the dev's put it in an interview, it's a little more in depth than "There's a Nazi, I'm going to shoot him".
I look forward to finding out exactly what happened on New Year's 1959, even if it means putting Phoenix Wright, Resi 4 (Wii) and the Nod campaign in C&C3 on hold for a while. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

I preordered it as soon as I could, which was a couple of years ago. The demo was great, if a little short, and should play brilliantly. If it keeps playing anything like System Shock 2 was then it should be fantastic. _________________
