Ok so I'm sure most of you are aware that I'm currently leading a mod to bring back Tiberian Dawn to C&C3 in all of it's glory.
So far most things are ok, but there's one thing I haven't quite yet settled on - How to do the repair bay.

I'm not familiar with Generals or BFME so I don't know what exactly is/was possible with those engines, so for C&C3 I pretty much have to use the existing units as examples of what's possible. And the problem is that there's nothing quite like the repair bays from previous C&C games.

I COULD just make a building that spawns repair drones, even invisible repair drones, but really that's the cheap way out. Anyone reckon there's a way of doing it properly? (I.e Unit "docks" with it, gets repaired at a cost to you and then leaves).

Discuss.

It worked in Generals, although I don't think it charged you for it I'm sure that was possible as well. It really depends on if the code is still there.

However docking logic does still exist for sure: aka the Harvester. It has to dock with the Refinery so you might be able to nab the code from that for the docking part. Not sure about where to go after that through. Maybe a really small repair zone that is limited to the size of the Depot.
