didn't wanna miss the party...
Subject description: so here's something for those who wants it
the models shown here are from BF2142; (aint it proof that c&c3 could very well handle ultra beautiful models?)
just to let "those" other guys who dont like "ripped" things, dont post here your comments and flames...
these post will only discuss some of the nice modding aspects/opportunities in C&C3, for example how to replace the ox transport with something like the screenshots shows;
1. the placement of animated particle effects and articulating parts in the model to attain better graphical aesthetics.
2. the shader fx's to use etc...
3. the proper placement of the bones (Garrison bones, exit bones etc...)
4. pivot points of the models (Vehicles uses a different model and pivot orientation which is also diferent with air units, these will be expunded later)
Now. for those interested in tuturials i'm gonna add these "Discoveries" in the wiki (if something like it pops up somewhere)...

I agree also, if you don't like something, keep your comments to yourself if you can't do it in a proper way.
Hint: 'OMFG YOU MAKE IT LOOK LIKE ****' and 'OMG YOU SUCK' is not a proper way. Remember, be helpful, not a 'S***C**K' style person. ( Extra Brownie points if anyone can guess where I got that from, DCODER, your not allowed to answer that. xD )
Moving on, the skins for those vehicles/aircraft could use more of a GDI theme to them still, mostly to make them fit in and such. _________________ ... QUICK_EDIT

more updates on the modding possibilities
Just so its clear from the start; The models i am presently using are from SupCom, BF 2142 & Ground Control 2 RTS Games -
I am not claiming to have made them myself, i only "RIPPED" them (as most of the "other guys" here will scream), using my own costum game extractor and 3D tools in order to have or make C&C3 more to my likings... That's in a way of saying, i want my ideas "visually" shown ingame in all its spectacular beauty....
I want to help the guys here who wants to know how to make C&C3 better even just in my own small way (helping through anyway i can).
So lets start rolling;
The screenshots here will give hints as to what is now possible in C&C3.
post your suggestions and i'll try to answer by making them ingame and taking screenshots, thus we can share hints and guides in modelling and gameplay/xml editing.

i'll be posting a guide on the xml coding (a sample xml unit code might be even better), so that the guys interested will have a hint as to what to do with xml's....

First i have a comment/question about the models:
No doubt that the game engine can handle the models in low numbers, but they (the BF2142 ones) look quite high-poly, so wouldn't that result in major lag if you fill the screen with them?
I know the purpose of this thread is to show the opportunities of the game engine, and sure, the models look great, but since CnC3 (as it is now) is a game where you fight using great quantites of units, the question for modders should be if it can handle them in great numbers...
Anyway, I recognize most of your discoveries eighter from modding Generals, or from playing with the xmls on my own, however I've never come across the barrel roll option you mention... It sounds really interesting, and would be highly useful in one of my current projects, so I would really appreciate it if you eighter mention it in one of your tutorials, or PM / post here where the code can be found .
Keep up the work, it may help people get new ideas for their mods. QUICK_EDIT
The BF2142 and Supreme commander models look highly detailed and very well designed like deathly machines of destruction should. The models and textures made by EALA look pathetic when compared side by side with the higher skilled model makers and artist from the other developers...
Good work getting the horrid crap models in TW out and I hope you replace every single structure and unit in TW with something better.
I have a few questions for you...
1.Have you tried adding the awesome looking BF2142 mechs and if you have can you post some screens?
2.Dark crusade and Empire at war have some nice models, have you thought of ripping the IG bane blade?
3.Can you turn this ripping into a full mod for those of us that want it? I'd like to try out your work.

This is for all who were asskin about those "walkers" in BF2142", The answer is "basically" yew=I did managed to incorporate them ingame in c&c3 but the problem is that i can never "ever" release these mod files in "public"

I dont see how that makes you a thief, no money what so ever is changing hands, and im sure if anyone had a problem with their stuff being ripped, they would have got you buy now
What so your going to show everyone this great gear, get there hopes up and deny them the right to try it them selves, you can at least let pple know how to get them out of the games so they can do it themselves instead of just saying im never going to release these. QUICK_EDIT
With regards to ripping stuff from other games, the short end of it is that it's pretty much ok to do as long as you never sell it for profit.
What's more, DICE is owned by EA and EA are more than happy to let you distribute content from one of their games as a mod for another as it'll only help boost their sales =)
I agree with Kushan, EA won't have you thrown in prison for it... Its all kewl you can add BF2142 models to TW but why tease the community members with these pix then give some excuse as to why you won't share it with all of us... QUICK_EDIT

Ok, ok. I've got your encouraging points, so i've made up my mind to share these models to a dedicated modding group that will offer hosting for these BF2142 models (the SupCom and Ground Control 2 models is a different story)....
So to make the ball rolling. Who'se mod will it be?
Coz to be honest with you guys, i really coud'nt afford the bandwidth to send the whole friggin mod i'm makin right now (The present build is already running at 55MB....).
I could send the models picemeal (1 unit at a time, which includes the already rigged model and the texture sets, or i can even incude the xml codes).
How about it guys?
All i'll be asking is for the mod team or anybody using those models to give me credit for making them usable in C&C3 (Not actually making them of course...).
I will even include the Mammoth Mk4 i've posted before, so those who loves the Mammoth can have their fun with it....... QUICK_EDIT
Rather than give them to one dedicated mod team, how about give them to a dedicated C&C3 mod site? There's almost always an editing resource for C&C games that allow you to get assets, code, etc. to mod the game and no doubt there'll be a C&C3 one *pokes Banshee with a stick*.
Plus, since the models are actually EA's property (no matter how much you rig or retexture them), I don't think you can legally dictate how they're meant to be distributed, so one leak and you're in the same position anyway. QUICK_EDIT

There already is a 3d model section here in Media Hut. Maybe you mean one specifically for TW's w3x format. A place where "already rigged, coded, and ready for insertion" models can be uploaded. I support that completely.
