In generals, the GLA had three varients for the pickup.

would it be possible to do the same in CNC3?
sry if this is a stupid question.

BuildVariations (the tag from Generals) doesn't seem to be valid in C&C3.

If you want to have the same unit juft with 3 different (randonm) models / skins, it very easy. Wink

well what I wanted to try for my mod, is maked maybe three or four variations of an infantry unit

three different heads, bodies, arms, legs

and have it randomly but the infantry together,

that way all the units would look different
because no two mutants would be the same.

like I said, its very easy. Those are the normal Zone-Troooper, with 5 different skin (I could also use 5 different models, works the same way)

I may post a short tutorial tomorrow, just need to fix a bug in my mod...

That's in a squad.
You've changed what units are in the squad and cloned the Zone Trooper then changed it to different skins correct?

Yes if all of those elements were seperate .w3x files and were animated perfectly together.
It'll be quite a lot of coding though, you'll need to basically have five sets of Draws information for each unit.
Look at the GDI Watchtower which has the gun on top as a seperate model.

However, it's unlikely it'll look very good as linking won't work across model files, so you'll probably have arms floating off on their own a bit.

nope, it just 1 Zone trooper..
It has a "RandomModelCondition"-Moduletag which chooses between USER_1, USER_2, ..... USER_5.
So I just needed to define these conditonstates and it worked...

Anyone knows how I can post xml entries here? whenenver I use (Quote) or (Code), it seem to delete some of it...

EDIT: or just look there:

Now there's an idea for a mod(the random body part mod). now, which zone trooper doesn't look like the others?
