Can't play C&C Gold on WinXP

Yes I have this problem, I can't run the game on my comp. I've downloaded the xp patch from ftp.westwood.com, but it still gives me an error message. I've also tried compatibility mode, same results. I have a LEGAL copy of the game. Can anybody help me?

You mean Win95 or 98? Why the hell should I install one of those piece of $hit? WinXP works OK, it's the most stable OS I've ever had on my comp and I can run every game but C&C95. Anybody knows a useful solution?

Well; personally I hate XP never gonna use it if I get my way, so I can't give anything more than what I've heard from friends. I herd there was a compatibility setting so u can set it to be compatibile with 95 games. My friend did this to make fallen haven work(which is prolly older than C&C 95)

It often doesn't work on XP. Neither does Red Alert. But there is a thing called "compatability wizzard" in your'e accesories file.

As I said before: I've tried the compatibility mode and it didn't work. It may have the same problem as unpatched TS has: game doesn't like when you have more than one CD drive.
New ideas are welcome!

I can't find main.mix on the CD, I'll install the game again. General.mix is 2.46MB itself, is it OK to upload big files like this?

there is no way to compress a 2.46 MB MIX file to 200 kb, remember the MIX files are already compressed.

I can probably get you the files later, after I get some sleep, if you still need them.

well i got a 7,10mb mix file to a 1,27 so it will be 500kb mix files are not compressed
