What do u think of RA3?
What do you think of RA3?
Here is my view about C&C:
C&C RA1 - Boring, to old
C&C TS - Always hated TS
C&C RA2/YR - love this classic game, still plays it
C&C GEN/ZH - I liked it for a while, dont like it anymore.
C&C TW/KW - I dont like this game at all, to dark and shit

Red Alert 3 is very unbalanced online. First game I played, the other guy was unskilled and I scouted him, and then proceeded to wait 10 minutes before steamrolling him. Next game, I got 8 enemy butterflys immediatly in my base who killed my harvesters, and then I lost because I had no economy. I dont diss them, I just say I dont enjoy playing them. But they were good when the game was new at that time.

TD- Classic.
RA1- Great game. Nice combination of SRS BUSINESS with ridiculous units.
TS- Boring. BORING BORING BORING. Terrible gameplay, little factional balance at all. (CY killing Nod Super Weapon, Cyborg God Commando vs Can't kill a WF Ion Cannon and WTF I CANT AIM UP SLOPES Ghoststalker)
RA2/YR- Best of the old CNCs for gameplay. Most moddable.
Gen/ZH- I have played it as recently as this summer. It was as boring as paste.
TW/KW- It was good to begin, but the patches ruined everything. It is hard, next to impossible to enjoy.
As for RA3, it surpasses everything after YR easily. And since this topic is about what I think of the game, a short review:
Campaign: Sorta lame, the Allies and Soviets acted on impulse for just about everything. They killed some characters that really made no sense to kill. It is supposed to be capture, negotiate. 7/10, with Co-Op, 9/10
Gameplay: The best for any CNC, but I fear that the pr0s will ruin RA3 just like they did TW. The AI is incredibly intelligent (for a CNC, I bet there is smarter). Contrary to what you may hear, the gameplay can be very fast paced, with battles starting within a few minutes.
Aside from Yuriko and the Shogun Battleship being completely overpowered still, and Tanya being completely underpowered, it is very balanced. (10/10)
Graphics: The graphics are vivid, the water effects far surpass any other RTS, even World in Conflict's. A few oddities here and there, but the game looks great and is logical evolution of RA2. The explosions are incredibly good, I love when you bomb certain structures and get absolutely huge flare ups. (9/10)
Sound: The sound effects are disappointingly bad in RA3...They recycle the Tesla Trooper, Tesla Tank, Tesla Coil, Kirov Airship weapon firing sound effects straight from RA2, as well as the Prism Tower and Tesla Coil charge up sounds.
Most of the weapon sound effects are incredibly weak, as for most of the guns, the worst offenders being pretty much the entire Jap side.
The voice-overs are great, the best of all CNC by far. In CNC3, the VOs for vehicles, it felt like the commander was sitting next to me rather than in his tank. In RA3, the voice overs sound much more convincing. Several are just plain hilarious (Hammer Tank going "Hammer Time!" or "Can't touch this!")

Music: Music is very good, but I was hoping for a fusion of HM1 and 2 for HM3, instead, like RA3's visuals, it was an evolution of the previous edition. Factional music was great, and I don't know why, but I liked the menu theme a lot.

well, I dont like the old ra2 sounds in ra3. With modding I am sure I can replace them, but I got zero knowledgein RA3 modding.

it was empire vs empire. hypothetically mirroring it would have countered it, but it is a cheap move nevertheless. Empire has no AA until they build a warf. Kill yourself. RA1 kicks ass. It's easily by far the single best of the series. (Because TD while having a kickass story, lagged behind the gameplay improvements RA1 did)

Can't disagree. Prior to Generals, TS was the low point in the series. Slow sluggish gameplay coupled with a story that frankly was underwhelming and not as good as it could have been.

I'm going to be brutally honest with you. RA3 is the biggest dissapointment since Deus Ex 2 on the xbox.
