I've just been playing the demo for Tom Clancy's End War on Xbox 360.

I was expecting the voice control to either be pointless or unreliable, but it was flawless throughout three matches.
Frankly the click to select click to order mechanic should now be dead, it's a fantastic way of controlling an RTS.

I've played the demo once; I liked the voice controls, they worked great. But I just couldn't get over the limited zoom. I know I should just look out unto the game map kinda like in an FPS; I know I'm not supposed to look straight down like in C&C games. And the mini map's there, I just kept forgetting about it.

Since it was my first time playing, and I never paid full attention to it, I'm sure I could have gotten used to it. I wish the gameplay mechanics were used with a different universe, though; I would prefer like C&C, or DoW, or Halo Wars, using End Wars engine, that would be sweet; real life stuff kinda gets boring.

You can set the camera to higher in the settings.

It is kinda awkward having to jump between the units to really see what's going on, but there's a voice command for it at least.

And yeah, the universe is rubbish. Really crappy sounding story.

I had rainbow six three for xbox1, and that had voice commands, and it absolutly sucked! The thing couldnt recognize what I said, so the first day I got it, I was sitting around yelling at it to do something, and the guys would go off and do something else! I remember that I wanted them to untie a hostage, and they were like "roger, securing the perimenter".

That's exactly what I was expecting from Endwar, especially with me not being American, but it genuinely didn't fail on me even once.

I disagree completely, no matter how accurate the voice commands it'll never be good enough for rapid micromanagement.

On console it's significently faster.

End war is another prediction of the future like the other Tom Clancy games that will come true :v meh, back to topic, If voice command worked that well, then Clancy is an amazing guy +10.

And that is completely correct, but it still doesn't beat oldskool keyboard-mouse combo #Tongue

End War is a breath of fresh air in the RTS genre and it'll probably get me off my World in Conflict addiction.

Just like Call of Cuty 4 got me off my Halo 3 addiction...

Really, I always prefered Halo 3 over CoD4; it just had a cooler universe, and nice weapons, and vehicles.

Plus, I'd rather be a super solder than some dude, capable of withstanding MANY .50 calibre shots, and capable of jacking a freakin' combat tank, smashing through the armored door, and annihilating the driver & gunner, with my bare hands.

It's close to epic... I wanna see Warhammer 40K with similare gameplay mechanics. Awesome.

Halo 3 and COD 4 are both very good games it's just that I found a game that could kick me off my addiction to Halo.

A warhammer 40,000 FPS (or a 3rd person shooter like Gears of War) would be awsome. Something that won't dissapoint like Firewarrior.

Halo 3 is roughly equal to CoD4 in my opinion.

I have both and I can't seem to find time (when I am not modding or playing RTS) to separate the two into proper amounts of time.

Maybe I should try sleeping less.

Oh. My. MALAL!!!!! OHMAIKHORNE/SLANEESH/TZEENTCH/NURGLE/CHAOSUNDIVIDED!!!!

Yes, a Warhammer 40K FPS, or MMOFPS, or I guess TPS (have the option to do BOTH, dammit!), would be RAVING COOLNESS. My fukc, it would be so awesome. Unless the guys who made it fucked up....... *shudders* I don't want to think about that.

Actually, there is a WH40K TPS game being made right now, unless it got cancelled - Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, is what it's called. Being made for the 360, maybe PS3. Graphics look great. They really need to make the Bolter a BOLTER, not an SMG. And make the animations more convincing.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE.

The Bolter in the preview was a placeholder weapon.

Besides, the preview was about HAXXORZ close combat in the name of the EMPEROR, not about rapid mini-rocket launcher guns. #Tongue
