Okay, I decided to move my thread to this forum branch...
Alright, this is the summation of my problem.

I'm trying to turn one of the Ambient sound effects global so that I don't have to place a million waypoints over the face of my map to make the whole map sound like there is wind blowing. The problem is, I've never edited the sound INI. Just a bunch voxel INI and other unit info. I'm not sure if you can make the sound global. I followed some of the other global sounds' INIs as a template and came up with the following code:
Code:
[_Amb_ArcticWind]
Sounds= awin01a awin01b awin01c awin01d
Control= random loop all ambient
FShift= -5 5
Priority= high
Type= global
Delay=2000 5000
MinVolume=45

And, I'm trying to trigger it with this trigger:
Name: Wind
House: Civilian
Type: 0 Not repeating(It says ambient loop under control=. I like to make it a point to check the INIs on stuff before I implement it in a map.)
Events:
8 Any Event
Actions:
19 Play sound effect...(Not play sound effect at...)
Sound _Amb_ArcticWind(Not in the list, I created an INI string for it.)

I don't understand why it wouldn't work. If someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong and where, that would be nice. Thanks.

You're wasting your time, it's impossible to put soundmd.ini code into maps #Tongue

Crap... Thanks, I thought I had it coded right. So, can you only amend rules ini with FA2?

rules.ini/rulesmd.ini and most of ai.ini/aimd.ini IIRC Wink
