Which of them is the best history based RTS game for you?

I like Age 2 a lot and I've never played Empire Earth, I've seen some features and graphics of Empire Earth and it seems that Empire Earth is really better than AOE2. Is that really correct? If it is, I'm gonna probably buy it as soon as I am blessed with some extra enough cash Wink

Well, Empire Earth is just...

!BIG!

Average game length (For one mission) is about 3 hours on the easy difficulty, and I can't beat the computer in a Custom Game even WITH cheats (I did manage it once in a full out, 6 hour, no holds barred, slugfest with an infinite resources cheat), and I haven't gotten past the later levels... Ie. the third level of any of the campaigns.

But, EE does own. I mean, from WWI on to the Nanotech Age, there's about 22 aircraft per epoch (WWI, WWII, Modern Day, Digital Age, and Nano Age), and for each epoch (Stone age, bronze age, gold age, renaissance, dark ages, medievel age, etc. [there's about 19 ages]) there's at least 10 different infantry and each epoch has vehicles and ships up the wazoo... The campaigns are interesting as well, so if you can get it, I'd suggest so. First, however, get it pirated or get a demo, because it can be boring if you aren't the game nut I am Smile

Well, I have my FTP server up and running, so when I get this /damn/ EE ISO working, I'll put it up and give you guys accounts if you want. It's basically the full version of EE, only free, and you need to burn it or download Daemon Tools...

I'd have to say Empire Earth only coz I managed to beat my mate on my first ever go (could have been something to do with a very convenient earthquake but that's not the point Rolling Eyes )

You need cracks to burn the game, really... however, PPM has a Terms Of Service with its host (EE) in which is prohibited to have content about illegal stuff like cracks and warez programs, so, since Dougfunie (EE Admin) is responsible for the contents of all site in his network and I dont want anything bad to happen with him, let's stop here and return to the topic Age Of Empires 2 or Empire Earth

Okay then.

About EE, it's really a game for people who like to have a lot of options at their disposal. Like, AOE2 has a small amount of units, really, and not big maps or anything, but it's still fun. On the other hand, EE has well over 500 units, probably, and bazillions of options, and huge maps. You and a friend are going up against a Nanotech Age opponent with a huge army, and you're only in World War II and your friend is only in the Rennaissance? Make a bunch of transport ships, and get your friend to load riflemen into them, then send them over along with the Enterprise (Aircraft carrier), or maybe two of them, and start launching planes at their base from the carrier while you unload your friend's troops, then, if the battle starts to go bad, tell your friend to back out and send in a nuclear bomber plane or two and nuke them. Of course, your friend will probably retaliate with Mechs, which can walk under water, and while you're attacking, he'll come up out of the water with a bunch of Zeus mechs and start kicking your ass (Which is why you create some tanks and marines, and a couple Spitfires, and take them mechs out.). You'd also have to worry about his group of Sea King 2s, which are badass against ships... Anyway, you get the idea. EE is huge, but if you just want to play a short 30 minute game, you're better to go with AOE. EE will take hours.
