ETS Project Rules

Something here added after RPCE release.

1)
The wishlist only helps me to find good ideas.
It's not list of demands.

2)
Different ETS versions won't compatible with each other.
Yeah, I will try to make it compatible as long as possible.
but it will be always compatible with original FireStorm

3)
RP and ETS is totally different projects.
It means: no comparison between RP and ETS.
If something is done in RP, it does not mean that it will be done in ETS.
and backward.

4)
You can (and I recommend) to include ETS installer in you mod package, but only original installer.

5)
ETS don't support any illegal cracks, like No-CD cracks.
Only legal versions are supported.

6)
Bug definition:
Bug - when IE appeared, or something does not work totally, or if does not work as declared.
If something does not work as you want, it's not a bug.
Before post anything like: "Hey, ETS have a bug".
Test it at least two times.
If it cause IE you must upload except.txt file.

7)
Revisions is only fix bugs, no new features in it (this allow ETS be more stable).

If you use ETS, it mean that you agreed with rules.

TO uses a seperate EXE, and so if we used ETS, we'd need to modify the ETS exe to use the TO extra bits.

Would this be allowed, C&CVK?

TSHyper has done a few modifications to the internal strings and such, like renamed files and a few menu and ingame modifications.
He says he'd be able to easily update these changes for every new version of ETS which is released, so we'd be able to work that, no problem.

In my honest opinion, he won't need these custom names if CnCVK adds the multi-mod support.

The ingame and menu modifications won't be affected by ETS, because he probably modified the language.dll, which is not affected by ETS.

The only thing that you can do and have no problems with it is to change the game icon.

Language.dll edits. ill talk to you on MSN some time so i can prepare for when Odyssey uses ETS Very Happy like the mod support btw, very good!

Just wondering: Now that TS and FS are freeware, can you release ETS as an .exe rather than a patch to an .exe. I could never get these kinds of things to work (RP, NP, ETS, HP if I ever tried that).
