(**) Properly getting rid of Upgrade Center plugins.
This fix requires base understanding of inis, including the Art. I used this to rid my mod of superweapons to make the AI unable to use superweapons 5 minutes into the game.
Quick Referance Tags
GDI Upgrade Center - GAPLUG
Ion Cannon - GAPLUG3 (Rules) or GAPLUG_F (Art)
HS Node - GAPLUG2 (Rules) or GAPLUG_E (Art)
Droppod - GAPLUG4 (Rules) or GAPLUG_D (Art)
First off, set all the plugin tech levels to -1, including the droppod node in the firestrm.ini. This will prevent the player from building them on the upgrade center.
Second, remove the "AIbuildthis=yes" on the plugins, this prevents the AI from attempting to put them on the Upgrade Center.
Third, remove "Upgrades=2" off the Upgrade Center so, even if you could build the nodes, you couldn't put them on the center.
Fourth, heres the Art part (lol rhyme), replace the GAPLUG art with this code, it gets rid of one animation that is on the Upgrade Center (not a huge problem) so that it can have 2 nodes preplaced on it. I went with the Ion Cannon and Drop pod (Threat Rating Node if regular TS).
ActiveAnims three and four are the nodes, switch 'em around if you'd like.
Hope you liked the tutorial, I thought some others might find it a learning experience or even useful.

A fix for mission crashes with upgrade centers is provided below. You will have to modify new missions by removing the upgrades, but these will fix the stock campaigns.

Well, yeah, but the last step is adding in animations and not leaving the upgrade center devoid of plugins. I guess I'll degrade it a star though. QUICK_EDIT
But the entire point of you removing the upgrades from the building in the art code is? It's quite simple to just use tech level and aibuildthis tags to disable all of it. QUICK_EDIT
Ok, apparently, when playing curtain missions the game will crash since you got rid of the upgrades, sooooo . . . I have uploaded a zip with the fixed missions, it also includes a change to let the center have the ion cannon for the last TS nod mission. (so you have a purpose to do the alternate mission) QUICK_EDIT
