Welcome to the Frontline Chaos announcement thread. As some of you may know, I've been working on this mod for a while. For those who haven't followed it, I'll explain:
Frontline Chaos is a total conversion mod for Generals Zero Hour. It removes the original China, USA and GLA factions and replaces them with 2 completely new factions: Legion and Revenant. It also comes with a complete new story and campaign for both factions.
In the time between the last announcement and this one I've been revising a lot of stuff for this mod. Some ideas have remained, some have been scrapped and replaced. As you may have seen in this thread, I've been working on models mostly (and more especially, texturing them) the last few weeks. Besides that, I also have almost finished all units for one of the factions, and have been testing with my (very) small testing crew, which are:
-DaFool
-DutchDirtBag
Other ppl that have been helping me during the mod are:
-DaFool (balance advice and mod supporter)
-Deformat (logo design)
-Liten (basic story and faction design)
Besides these ppl, all other stuff has been done by me. In principle, it's a one-man mod. Progress goes slow, but steady. By doing everything myself, I learn a lot, and the mod goes the way I want.
As I know you lot like images, I have some for you (some are from the other thread):
Legion Behemoths assaulting a Revenant outpost (also the official announcement image)
Revenant Componet Tower defences
Revenant unit comparison
I'll update this thread regularly with new units, faction info and story info. Post feedback on what you see and read if you want, and ask questions if you have any. I may need some ppl to assist me when I'm further with the mod. When the time comes, I'll let you guys know.
More info about the factions and the story will follow soon. QUICK_EDIT

---Legion unit update--- Viking Main Battle Tank
Description:
The Viking is the sturdy Main Battle Tank (MBT) of the Legion Army. It is armed with a 120mm cannon, and sports heavy armor. The Viking can be upgraded in the field to have a second barrel, which gives the Viking double the firepower at a slightly lower rate of fire, and slightly slower movement and turning speed.
Whether it has a second barrel or not, the Viking can win in a one-on-one battle against most Revenant vehicles due to its armor and weapon, but is an easy prey for anti-tank infantry because it’s slower than most vehicles.

Non-official comment: yes, I know it looks like the WW2 KV2 tank. I based it upon that, because I love that beast QUICK_EDIT

---Revenant unit update--- Raden Assault Gun
Description:
Armed with a 250mm HE Cannon, this beast named “Raden” is the heavy tank of the Revenant. The cannon can mow trough almost all ground targets with a few shots. It does have some trouble with heavier armor sported by tanks, so it’s most effective against infantry and structures. The Raden also sports rather heavy armor for Revenant standards. The cannon can be upgraded so it can fire a Rocket Assisted HE Shell (RAHES). This RAHES shell does massive damage on impact, but also puts a lot of stress on the barrel. Because of this, it can only be used once in a while. The Raden’s heavy armor can be supplemented by adding side skirts for additional protection.
The armor and the cannon give the Raden a few downsides: it’s slow, expensive, and has a rather long reload time. The cannon and heavy armor also requires a Nerve Center to be at the battlefield before it can be deployed.

Non-official comment: as the side armor is a seperate model, I haven't included that one in the renders. Also, this model is a bit based upon Russian and German WW2 Tank Hunter like the Hetzer and the SU-152. QUICK_EDIT
