The Toxiner buggy is a light vehicle put together by the mutant clans inhabiting the infected zones. Its
main purpose is area patrol, and it is armed with highly corrosive toxins that it sprays upon it's target.
The toxins are effective versus anything living including our cyborgs, but also makes buildings crumble
to ground quickly. While operating in infested areas, it is vital to keep Toxiners from sneaking in your
base. Results would be catastrophical.

Isn't the chance it intoxicates itself almost as big as it intoxicates the enemy?

The cloud spawns always on the target, so if it stays in place while firing it takes quite a long time before the clouds drift on it.
But, if using them in group or moving between the shots, then yes, they take damage (quite a lot).
