Right, so I tried to take Aro's Blue sidebar and re-use it, but somehow either XCC Mixer or OS SHP Builder screws my screen. So I took the image from SHP Builder, edited it, pasted back in SHP Builder, saved it. I drag-n-dropped the image in XCC Mixer directly in the mix. The image is bkgdlg.shp and the palette is uibkgd.pal, right?

Anyways, here's a ingame and a view in the SHP Builder (yea, ingame the metal bar of the sidebar looks slightly different, but that's the way it was meant to be).

Can anybody point me out what am I doing wrong?

From the looks of it, and very little experience editing the sidebar, check that your "white" colour is the correct "white" colour. Try changing it to another colour and see if that changes it.

TL;DR: looks like a pallet-problem.

Weird, replacing the old white with a different one made the SHP work. I thought that custom palettes worked differently, but seems I was wrong.

Thanks, Dupl3xxx.

The last (or first, depends on the program) colour in the pal is used as the transparent background. It is typically blue or pink but in your pal it's white, thus the white coloured parts turn black because the game thinks they should be transparent.
