The TI launcher is almost okay. There are some graphical glitches when launched under Wine - launching it under Wine is a must, otherwise it couldn't launch the games associated with it - the Skirmish/Network buttons do nothing - disappear then immediate reappear -, the AutoUpdater freezes after it finished downloading the files (with a messagebox-sized TI logo placed into the middle).

It can launch FinalTI without any problems, and you can launch the TI campaign - only in windowed mode though, if TI is set to fullscreen then the launcher again does nothing.

The DTA launcher is terrible. The thing falls back on software rendering the animation, making the whole thing so slow on my PC that the buttons won't even do anything.

The "DTA" window is the frozen one - the autoupdater does still work and still can be canceled, although it reached 100% of updating minutes ago.

Only one of the themes uses a background animation, so you could just switch the theme to Classic or one of the RA themes to disable the animation.

I've heard that CodeWeavers Crossover is more capable when it comes to running the client. IIRC hifi of CnCNet got it (the DTA client) to work properly with Wine as well - including working skirmish and CnCNet.

Anyway, there's fairly little I can do about Linux/Mac support. I can avoid using the certainly Windows-exclusive stuff, for the rest I can just hope that Wine will do its job one day.
