IE on snowmaps (load screen) only?!
Subject description: Need a bit of advice to narrow down the search
For the life of me I cannot figure out my game crashes on the load screen on any snow maps. Ive concluded its not unit related, weapon or otherwise. I believe is graphical due to a building shp (temp or snow) but I cannot be certain. Almost every building has new graphics. Any help with the topic would be fantastic .. or even better, if someone could explain how to understand the Except doc and I can do it myself!
In many cases the EIP gives a hint what went wrong.
Since yours is 77473AA8 which is outside the usual range,
i would suggest to create all your new/custom mix files again. (empty them and then copy all files in one step into them again) Corrupt mix files tend to cause an IE like yours. (I hope you haven't changed any of the original mix files, since that can lead very fast to crashes as well)
It could be also wrong setup of the files and the settings in art.ini. e.g. you specified DemandLoad wrong in art.ini
Quote:
DemandLoad=true: load from iso*.mix. Crash at loading screen when SHP not found.
DemandLoad=false (default): load from ecacheXX.mix. No crash, no problems.
Other than that, only modder who have disassembled the game.exe, then created a comprehensive database of memory addresses of most/all the functions the game uses. After that, they can use the memory addresses in the except.txt to decipher at which point the game crashed.

you can also remove all your changes, then test, if it works, add them one by one back into the game and test after each new modification.
This way you can find the problem very reliable as well. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
