Vehicle Series: 3 of 3.

This is based on the C&C4 Mammoth tank concept (not the in game version).

As always I made changes were I saw fit.

I was primarily interested in the rail Mammoth, so the default Mammoth is probably not as good as it could be.

As always, very nice modeling and texturing work.
Imo the design even looks better than the very flat and wide CnC3 Mammoth.

The only thing i dislike on your model are the treads protectors on the side. They go even beyond the tracks and thus would make this unit unable to climb any smaller hills and rocks. It would always get stuck on these armor plates.
They are also very low, giving the tracks no space to move up and down, since the tank wheels are usually flexible mounted.

LKO: I think the front and back tracks are pods that can rotate/articulate, the whole front should tilt up to follow terrain, that isn't to say it still won't dig into the dirt or get stuck on rocks, but hills shouldn't be as challenging.

The bigger issue I see is the suspension wheels don't angle up in the front, which means any directly hit obstacle wouldn't press upward, but create a jarring impact instead.

This is art!
It would be nice if there were some video tutorials showing how these brilliant textures are made.

It's a pity that there aren't many tutorials on how to make textures...3d noobs like me are left to die in shame...

That design actually looks decent now. It was horrible in C&C4, but then again most of its units were ingame.

The impression that the in game screens give is indeed that the skirts go lower than the treads. They do not, but I will have to raise them slightly.

The only purpose of the extended skirt is to hide the fact that the wheels are not modelled.  It has to be far enough down so a player could not see that there were no wheels.

Yes it is in the same style as the C&C3 Mammoth in that regard.

Yes this was dumb on my part, I will change that as it is a simple fix.

This is a link to a comprehensive tutorial, one of the best available. It covers many aspects of modelling, unwrapping, texture baking , texturing and making renders.

Thanks to everyone for your comments!
