Hi PPM fam, what's the best work around this? I honestly haven't tested much, but I have a custom shp working as the particle effect (if that makes any difference at all?)

Anyway, railgun deals no damage when it goes through cliffs/elevation.

Are you sure it hit the target? The point of a railgun doing ambient damage is that it assumes it penetrates everything in it's firing line to the target, hurting them too. Same with the sonic dolphin thingy.

Or does it actually hit the target clearly and just not apply damage?

Hitscan weapons (assuming no Inaccurate/FlakScatter), outside of a few weird situations involving improperly placed/built cliffs, will always hit. Atleast in my experience.

With railguns, there is no real workaround, it's going to fail to do damage on things that there isn't a straight path to.

What I did in Star Strike was make railgun weapons split their damage between AmbientDamage= and Damage=.

That way, when in a scenario where the AmbientDamage would fail (like with the tank sitting on top of the hill, atleast some damage is dealt.

It gets to the target, it just doesn't deal damage.

Thanks for this, if there's no other way this will have to do, it's better than doing no damage at all. Smile
