I'm looking through your WW Stocks folder, and I wonder: could these be used by modders? Or will that give copyright problems?

Probably, tho if your project doesn't involve any money i doubt anyone would really care then as they wouldn't have anything to gain from it.

Pretty much all of them came from shitty chinese websites that has already illegally re-branded them as their own.

After a lot of research i determined that WW got their stocks from The Image Bank stock collection which pretty much isn't available anymore now.
The Image Bank was gobbled up by Getty, Getty only left a few thousand of the photos that collection had, none of those are there, i checked, you can still find some FMV photos tho like

TUSCANY, backs,CLOUD2,SKY,MEADOW1,LAKEDUSK however are stocks that came with 3DS Max back then, and some still until Max 2013 with which they and a whole lot legacy images got removed

I probably should have had mentioned it a while ago.

Some time ago, while working on Rewire, Gangster sent me the new high detail models, that’s when I realized that I can’t continue working on Rewire, because I don’t have good enough hardware.
We intended to remake all the terrain and all civil sorts of objects in a way so it matches the original game and so it could be used by other modders as a basis once finished and released.
The last things, well really, also the first things that I remember in the HD asset front I worked on were

Sadly my Athlon 64 x2 4800 and Nvidia 9500 GT can’t handle the 3D models and PS gets rather unusable when painting/working on textures above 1k.

A bit more than a month ago I discovered my PC has started getting I/O / Read/Write errors, it started with Skype logging out showing a I/O error.
At first I thought Skype is glitching so I reinstalled and continued using my PC, then this started to happen in PS and other applications.
I ran a diagnostic on the HDD and a surface test all was fine.

The end conclusion was that my motherboard is dying which also showed as the PC getting really slow, so I decided to stop using my PC.
All I have now is an old and really slow portable that I can do hardly anything on.

To be clear I stopped using my PC right after the issues appeared so none of my work is lost, I just don’t have access to it anymore besides some old stuff on my Dropbox.

So for those wondering, there it is, the long waited answer why I don’t show up on X or Y, or Skype or add new stuff to my archive.

Your CPU & Gfx card are good enough to work on models a lot larger so I dont think they are the problem.

I hate dying mainboards. They are such a pain to find out, since they are the last thing you replace when trying to find the malfunctioning component.
CPU, RAM, GraCa, HDD all easy checked and replaced. But the mainboard, ... Wall bash!

None, they are fairly low-ish poly actually.A lot of them had Meshsmooth or Turbosmooth applied at render.
The issue comes when the total poly count is over 1 000 000 Max viewport ran at 1 FPS.
The RA2 models for example were split to 9 files i think that all contained a bunch of models that were all together near the 1 000 000 mark.
The Rewire Kodiak model was 750 000 iirc.

Other high poly Gangster's models he has done for earlier projects were over 1 000 000 each, those who have access to the RW Staff forums can find them there.
The RW models were unwrapped, another issue i had is Max was constantly crashing while unwrapping anything other than low poly models and even then.
Textures made a play too, they were 2k at min and that was enough to make PS get slow.

Perhaps the motherboard had issues already as well, its a really old computer approx 10 years.

AM2 motherboards can't be found in Latvia anymore, i have no option but to buy a new PC, the only thing usable from my old one is a 400W PSU

It's been tested believe me, the 9500 GT is just too old to handle the amount of polys. Honestly my 2Gb HD7770 gets down to 15fps at 1,000,000 polys connected to a 3.8GHz 8-core (and I get 30+ fps while working on 8mil polys in ZBrush). The render viewport Autodesk coded simply isn't designed well enough to work with all of that detail at once, especially in 4 windows. Pair that with photoshop or whatever else is open, and I definitely wouldn't think that system could do it. No offense.

Maybe you can find an AM2 in a PC repair store, I always had a boatload of older (still working) mainboards in the back room, albeit more were Intel. Smile

Oh and 3DS Max (2010 and 2013 at least) constantly crashes if you use more than 25,000 polys in the UVW Unwrapper anyways, just because it's made for people to section off rather than dump 40,000 edges into it.

You only uploaded the 2 versions, but where is the 'WW' version? if the 2 ones with the chevron in middle those are the version 1 and 2.
