hi im new to editing rulesmd but im have trouble cloning a unit from rulesmd like the E1 i copy and paste did not work i tryed adding another spot in unit like 1=E1 made a last spot E2 can anyone assist with this

Im not tryig to make a skin or anything im trying to make the same unit with diffrent stats but same skin
whats i plan to do have a rank system
Rank1 gi default
rank 2 gi higher armor and health
rank 3 gi more
i just dont know how to duplicate the gi into rulesmd and into the game one i can figure that out ill be set or make a new unit with the same skin and picture with diffrent name ingame and i dont know how to make a new unit

Well being as you didn't mention art.ini code you could be missing a lot of necessary things, why don't you post your code or at least relevant snippets...

E2 is already used in [InfantryTypes] list, so use something different like
E1A or E1R2 for the cloned GI.

Image=GI?

I don't think that the SHP file is called that.

Search in the artmd.ini file for [E1] and that should be your target for the Image=.

Your code is already correct, place the modified rulesmd.ini in the game
folder. You should see 2 GI icons on the sidebar, one might be with tooltip
Missing:...

Have you started with a fresh YR rulesmd.ini? There are only 65 list
entries in [InfantryTypes] in original rulesmd.ini and your index 100
creates such a doubt as if there are more infantries between 66 to 99.

The XCC Mixer (a vital tool for modding) has a menu 'Launch' (File, Conversion, View, Launch, at the top), which contains 'XCC String Table Editor'. Launch the appropriate one (Yuri's Revenge, probably) and add your UIName to the list there. In this case, you would need to add Name:E1R1, presumably with the name 'Rank1 GI' (judging by what you wrote in the Name= tag).

Alternatively, Ares allows you to sidestep this. Look up Ares' documentation if you are interested in that / if you plan on using Ares.
