Tennis court size opinions?
I think the larger one looks better, but the smaller is more appropriately sized... there's just something slightly disturbing about the smaller one to me.
needs other stuff (buildings, streets, etc) in the image to tell.
currently the clear ground grass texture is too big for the small one, and the big one could be too big compared to ?RA2? civil buildings. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
The 2x3 would be to scale with the rest of the buildings and stadium tbh. _________________ "Don't beg for things; Do it yourself or you'll never get anything." QUICK_EDIT
i think the bigger question is why did you make a tennis court. unless its connected to a building i think it would look rather stupid to use the small one. when infantry go by it itll look retarded as hell. QUICK_EDIT
I know the arguments, I wanted to gauge what you people think are the most important of them. I'm leaning to the smaller one, I have made the net taller and the lines clearer though.
My thinking is that these are just decorative items and thus should match the buildings rather than people. As a rule I don't put civilians on my maps anyway.
Mig: The beach towels are like giant area rugs using building scale, and still kinda small for infantry, I don't think you can match infantry realistically, it would be 5x11 or something. _________________ http://www.moddb.com/mods/scorched-earth-ra2-mod-with-smart-ai QUICK_EDIT
I would use the smaller ones; beach towels, campfires, and so on, also do not fit with the infantry scale. Sure, they are also big for buildings, but that is because there is a minimum size of 1x1 tile. So I would say Westwood consistently tries to use the building scale distinct from the infantry scale.
A smaller tennis court, fitting with the nearby buildings, would look better than a large tennis court that only looks normal when infantry happen to walk by it - but most of the time, it is near other buildings, without infantry in sight.
