Lovely attempt.

1. In game, it is above ground.
2. With separate turret on this type of units, shadowindex becomes a problem.
3. There seems to be a under-belly barrel in your image!
4. I suppose oat6oas in the readme is you.

1. probabaly you make set both file as turret, no such problem in my test

2. Yes, but if you set turret=no, the shadow would be normal.

3.  I use fv as name, but I suppose new created unit with a custom
name will has no such problem.

Now I understand that the shared files are the same as shown in your
screenshot. As the name of the voxel is GTNK, RA2 uses gtnkbarl from
original ra2.mix. The barrel is not part of the shared voxel, that is why
I didn't get it when I tried in TS.

If you insert the turret as a section in the main voxel itself, you can put
the ShadowIndex on the largest section.

You should try like ShadowIndex=5 in art, so that you can see the unit
in relation to its shadow for being above ground.
