[RA2][Joke] 80s Sprinter Trueno
Decided to make the famous Initial D car.
But wait, there's more! I included icons and 4 sounds to go with it, motor revving, an attack command, unit created (like tanya), and a 'Running in the 90s' move loop for extra effect.
You'll need to make a new HVA if you want to just use the basic car, because the included HVA is tilted so it always drifts. Oh and here's some joke code to go with it:
Spoiler (click here to read it):
Code:
[AE86]
UIName=NOSTR:Sprinter Trueno
Name=AE86 Sprinter Trueno
Prerequisite=GAWEAP
Primary=CrushCars
Strength=900
Category=AFV
Armor=heavy
IsTilter=yes
TooBigToFitUnderBridge=false
TechLevel=6
Sight=6
Speed=10
PipScale=Passengers
Passengers=3
OpenTopped=yes;passengers can shoot out
SizeLimit=1 ;gs like half track and Blackhawk. Terror Drones and Brutes are allowed in.
CrateGoodie=no
Crusher=yes
OmniCrusher=yes;gs can crush things not normally crushable
Owner=British,French,Germans,Americans,Alliance
Cost=100
Soylent=100
Points=50
ROT=5
Accelerates=yes
IsSelectableCombatant=yes
AllowedToStartInMultiplayer=no
Explosion=TWLT070,S_BANG48,S_BRNL58,S_CLSN58,S_TUMU60
VoiceSelect=AE86Select
VoiceMove=
VoiceAttack=AE86AttackCommand
VoiceFeedback=
DieSound=GenVehicleDie
MoveSound=AE86MoveLoop
EnterTransportSound=EnterTransport
LeaveTransportSound=ExitTransport
Maxdebris=3
Locomotor={4A582741-9839-11d1-B709-00A024DDAFD1}
MovementZone=Destroyer ;gs OmniCrush handles crushing tanks and such, this handles walls
ThreatPosed=40 ; This value MUST be 0 for all building addons
DamageParticleSystems=SparkSys,SmallGreySSys
DamageSmokeOffset=100, 100, 275
Weight=1
VeteranAbilities=STRONGER,FIREPOWER,SIGHT,FASTER
EliteAbilities=SELF_HEAL,STRONGER,FIREPOWER,ROF
Accelerates=false
;ZFudgeColumn=8
;ZFudgeTunnel=13
Size=3
AIBuildThis=no
BuildLimit=1
OmniFire=yes
OmniCrushResistant=yes; so Crusher can crush Crushable, OmniCrusher trumps Crushable=no, and then OmniCrushResistant trumps OmniCrusher
EDIT: Uploaded a fixed version of the moveloop and for those that don't want to redownload, it just needed to be converted to IMA ADPCM to get it to work.

Uploaded a video of it in (horrible, ear wrecking) action. _________________ "Don't beg for things; Do it yourself or you'll never get anything." QUICK_EDIT

The voxel is nice but there are a lot of areas where it needs improvement. The biggest inaccuracy however implies to me you only know Initial D from the memes and actually unaware of the series.
1) Running in the 90s doesn't work with THIS version of the AE86. What you've voxelled is the Fourth Stage-onweards version of the Trueno, because of the carbon hood. Should've sampled Gas Gas Gas -that was in Fourth Stage and also being memetic - instead because Running in the 90s is started at a memorable moment of First Stage - asin the moment Iketani reveals to everyone around him that Takumi had beaten Keisuke Takahashi before, during Takumi's actual first race - and the hood was white during then.
2) The cameo sucks. So I've attached two cropped and resized screenshots which might fit better. Both are from Forth Stage (I hate Fifth Stage and Final Stage CGI).
3) You probably would have gained a better drifting effect if you make the car into a turret with a dummy voxel body. Atleast that's what I'm planning to do with my Trueno remake to give it more drifting.
4) Should've get a screeching sound along with everything but suddenly I'm not sure if there is a drift in the whole series where there aren't any noise to sample from. The revving sound also sound not-Initial D which I find ungh.

They are much better cameos, I agree, I just kinda got the first image I found and cropped it. I have seen the anime before, I just didn't think there was a good point in Gas Gas Gas that would be short and work as well and it's far more well known. The turret is a good idea, but I wasn't making this a serious vehicle effect of course because it really doesn't fit with RA2's cell-based movement anyway. I tried getting a screeching sound, I searched through about 8 episodes, but as you said, they're pretty much all with background music. The revving sound actually is sampled from the anime from the Trueno; First Stage Episode 13/14 specifically. Thanks for the feedback.
@cxtian39 a turret can have a shadow as long as it's specified as that number in the ShadowIndex. _________________ "Don't beg for things; Do it yourself or you'll never get anything." Last edited by 4StarGeneral on Sat Nov 18, 2017 12:38 am; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
You're right, you're right, I was thinking Yuri's floating disk turret had a shadow, but nope it's the fake body. _________________ "Don't beg for things; Do it yourself or you'll never get anything." QUICK_EDIT
