multiple crate types in singleplayer?

Subject description: is it possible in tiberain sun more preicisely TI?

i was wondering if anyone knew of a way to introduce multiple crate types into a singleplayer map in either TS or TI?

I think only the single crate type is overwritten in crate rules section as
needed for specific missions.

You can add the [CrateRules] section to your map and then use
SilverCrate=HealBase    ; solo play silver crate bonus
WoodCrate=Money         ; solo play wood crate bonus
WoodCrateImg=CRATE      ; wood crate overlay image to use
CrateImg=CRATE          ; normal crate overlay image to use
to have 2 different crates. You can give these 2 any of the bonuses defined in the [Powerups] section. (maybe also give them different images, as by default they look the same)

More different crates with fixed properties are not possible in singleplayer. The random powerup effect works only in multiplayer.


However, you can create a new Overlay (a clone of CRATE) which has
Crate=yes ;can still be picked up by a unit
CrateTrigger=no ;this should not give any of the default bonus
Then you can react on them when picked up with a map trigger using an "enter cell" event by placing a cell trigger under the overlay.

do i need the numbers list that coresponds to finalsun saying which number produces what specific crate to set the overlay data manually? if so where might i find this peice of information?
