Wether it's visual art done through a paint program or pen, do you build up your "visual library" primarily using google or do you study things you see physically in your house and/or in other real world locations? Or both?

Pinterest requires potential viewers to log in. Deviantart is a better alternative: It allows guests unless the creator negates it explicitly.

And you're afraid of making an account?

You need to realize many of the good artists left DeviantArt because of its policies and the fact most of the content on DeviantArt is really low effort/fan drawings. Most are now on their own websites/blogs or miscellaneous places like CGSociety, Artstation, and Tumblr, etc. Places with alot more respect. People grab things from all these places and throw them together on Pinterest. Otherwise if you want to search high and low to find all of these artists, be my guest, though even then Pinterest obviously doesn't have everything.
