Sometimes I really wonder if cxtian39 is not a new master at ztyping up threads much like some other annoying people in the past (please do not say anything if you do not have anything usefull to say, and think before you say anything too)
For the actual question I would also look into build time differences and look at other games with infantry being more usefull. As for what G-E said about C4 that is more of a allies thing in RA2:YR as in Navy Seal, Chrono Commando & Tanya has it while the Soviets and Yuri do not have C4, C4 was not as side specific in the past for older games.
I personally kinda miss rocket soldiers from C&C1/RA1/NOD in TS to blow up buildings and vehicles and aircrafts not to mention rocket weaponry is quite lethal in real life so it should damage infantry good too, also the GDI Ghost Stalker in TS has a nice railgun that could be used against all targets (including airborn, when modded) QUICK_EDIT
the biggest flaw of infantry is their slow speed.
In TD a grenadier was actually faster (a tiny bit) than a M1A1 (the fastest tank in the game)
In RA1 they messed this up and made every vehicle faster than infantry, thus infantry completely useless and easy to crush. (except the tesla trooper which had the special Crushable=no setting like no other infantry there)
In TS vehicles were slowed down again, so only fast recon vehicles were faster than infantry, but several heavy units were slower than them.
With infantry being too slow compared to vehicles, they get useless since they can be easyly crushed, outrun and dodged by vehicles.
Another very nice effect of TD that was never replicated in any other C&C was that all cannons were inaccurate when firing on infantry (the cannon projectiles flew too far overhead of the infantry or hit too short).
Thus infantry had a much greater chance to survive against tanks/cannons.
All following C&Cs had only super accurate cannons, and just the Verses adjusted a bit. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings

The easiest way I can think of to make infantry more important is to make sure every side has one or two anti-tank infantry units (Like Guardian GIs), that has range equal to the best tanks, which then every vehicle is quite weak against. These infantry should then be very weak against other infantry. That will ensure that any player that wishes to deploy tanks, would also need infantry to protect those tanks from the anti-tank infantry. QUICK_EDIT

What about RA2 and YR? Same as TS?
RA2 has more than TS, You may even need Ares DLL _________________ If you are a MetalHead (Heavy Metal Fan) and don't want to be a metalhead, Just remove your metal ball from your head. :p .

TW&KW restore this.
However infantries are usually in squad of 6 or 8, even the cannons is inaccurate it still have a large chance not to miss. _________________
