As I said in the topic description (If you somehow can't read topic descriptions,  like TAK02), edmouse.shp is the original RA1 map editor's mouse. XCC Mixer doesn't even recognize the file as an SHP file. (recognizes it as unknown.)

edmouse.shp
 Description:
Here's the mouse.

 Filename:  edmouse.shp

If XCC Mixer does not recognize it, OS SHP Builder won't recognize it either. Which SHP format was it written? Dune 2?

I don't know. How do you expect me to know?

I am not expecting anything, to be honest.

However, the are a couple of ways to know it:

1) is using another program to read these files that may read different  SHP formats

2) Look at the signature of the file through a Hex Editor (usually the first 16 bytes should be more than enough) to see if it matches any of the known SHP formats.

Why don't you do it yourself?

EDIT: Even XCC Mixer recognizes the Tiberian Dawn mouse as Dune 2 SHP.

Because I have other priorities in my life rather than checking a mouse cursor image that I've never cared about potentially using file types that I've never cared either. In short, I do have a life like any of you.

I found out that the RA1 (game) cursor is also unknown, just like the map editor one.

Yes the mouse uses Dune 2 shp format, benefit it gives is LCW compression which likely gives a better compressed result than vs the later format's XOR Delta.

XCC is dumb about how it decides what a file is, in this case I believe it would only decide a file was a DUNE2 shp (which the RA mouse files are) if the frame count was under a certain number. I fixed that and a couple of other issues in a fork of XCC.
