Would I be able to use the BASEUNIT swap method that is in DTA for my own mod? I see that it is way more efficient then removing baseUnit tag. If so, how would I be able to do it? I don't just want to use DTA and change it.

Unless you're able to compile your own spawner for your mod, this currently only works for DTA and TI.
It will most likely be implemented for the TS client in the future as well, but it'll have to wait until some time next year because it's a busy couple months.

So when you come to that, will that nessacerily mean that there will be a separate version of TSClient to allow more than one MCV in BaseUnit, or will it just be patched?

Also, do I just put the extraced files in the directory for them to work?
