my first released map,a deathmatch,and a factory on the north side.

I'm attaching the pic of a minimap.

I'm sorry, but this map is not good at all. Please take note of my comments and don't repeat those mistakes in your next map.

1. Completely flat.
2. Terrain absolutely dull.
3. Shore errors in left top quadrant.
4. The blue border needs to be much further (4-5 cells if its at ground level) from the edges, otherwise you'll get crap at the very bottom of the map.
5. Too many gems for such a small map, and very badly placed - units cannot harvest stuff that's less than 2-3 cells away from the blue border, but they get stuck trying to harvest it.
6. Too much civilian crap that does nothing useful.
7. Too little build space for the AI.
8. Shorelines too straight and artificial.
9. Ore Purifiers are not capturable.
10. The readme ... in .DOC? What's wrong with good old notepad?

Have you even played it yourself?

And?They aren't supposted to be captured,otherwise a player might get 2,3 ore purifiers=> unfair=> destoys ballance in the game itself=>kills fun

So what purpose do they serve? Especially three of them? Nothing but base congestion.

Actually, I thought I saw the readme mention purifiers under "stuff to capture", my bad.

This Thread Is Worthless Without Pictures

In game ones that is
capturable purifiers IMO are a good Idea so that when taking out an Allied base you can keep a momento of what the poor loser had there before
And how would it destroy ballence? Yuri dosn't have one and The Soviets don't have one and they're easaly destroyed from air or with a few Gi's so really how would the balence be disrupted?

Dont Bother fixing this. Though have seen far worse maps b4

This one looks like a Chimp got it's hands on an etch-A-Sketch

Just work on a new one..and keep this _code_ in mind if you dont want to go broke fast when making a modded map

To increase ore value copy and paste this code::


[Tiberiums]
0=Riparius
1=Cruentus
2=Vinifera
3=Aboreus

[Riparius];yellow ore
Value=35;was 25;can be any #. but keep it reasonable..as infinate money is frowned apon

[Cruentus]; Gems
Value=65;was 50

[Vinifera] yellow ore
Value=35 ;was 25

[Aboreus];not sure..could be ore given the original value
Value=35;was 25

;and now you can put far less ore/Gems on your maps
