Goldeneye is an old, overrated piece of shit....

GoldenEye 64 is the best game ever made. Period.
Great experiences OMG. I remember that day when we "discovered" this game in our local videotheque. We liked bond so we thought "hey, that looks fun". We didn't know that we held the Holy Grail in our hands before we put it in the console... we got addicted and got it from the videotheque every weekend (it was indiced in Germany, ie N/A in stores, no idea why the videotheque had it)... damn we spent a bunch of money on that xD
Until I finally got the game from the "black market" if you will. Damn.
And now, 10 YEARS LATER, it's still the most played game on my N64.
I loved the game so much I got into hacking it the other day. I produced a weapon set editor (for multiplayer), a character editor and a text editor (grab them at http://www.goldeneyeforever.com, scroll a bit down on the main page).
Fav solo mission: Facility
Fav weapons: Cougar Magnum, DD44 Dostovei, D5k Deutsche
Fav multi maps: Facility, Complex
Fav multi weapon sets: Power Weapons, Proximity Mines, Pistols 2 (custom)
Fav multi character: Mayday

Id have to say that both Golden Eye and Perfect Dark are the best games ever made. There is a mod for Half life 2 that makes it into Golden Eye. Ill go and dig up the link. QUICK_EDIT

*Pretty* nice work they do there, something like this was what I expected EA to do when they announced their GoldenEye... well, turned out to be the worst offense against the original ever...
Also, there's "Project Goldeneye", a GoldenEye TC for UT2004 (which I prefer, because unlike GE:Source, it tries to look and feel exactly like the original).

The GoldenEye <> Perfect Dark case is pretty similar to TS <> YR.
YR has many more things to play with and many more possibilites to mod it etc.
But still, there are a lot of people sticking to TS because they feel it's the true C&C.
I have the same feeling about GoldenEye. Of course Perfect Dark is a major improvement of GoldenEye in every technical way... but it can't reach GoldenEye's originality, and I think even Rareware themselves were kinda aware about this (why else would they port GoldenEye levels and weapons to Perfect Dark as bouses).
Also, I'm a bond fan, and this game happens to bring my favorite bond film to the N64 =D QUICK_EDIT
Goldeneye kicked ass. And I have far more memories of it than Perfect Dark. Namely because I didn't get Perfect Dark until I just moved into my current student house!
Goldeneye wins with the originality, and that you could run around spewing out cheesy Bond quotes all the way through.
But, I do find Perfect Dark far more enjoyable. There are loads more options, especially in multiplayer, which for me is the winning kicker.
Its Goldeneye, but improved in everyway, minus the bond theme. Which although sucked, couldn't be avoided due to Rareware loosing the bond contract. _________________ If there is a problem on the forums, PM me. QUICK_EDIT
