Big? yes, wasteful? probably, unbalanced? almost certainly.
But it's to show I'm willing to try.

I know I haven't got any skill at all compared to Aro or Wes but I'm going to give it a shot. And like my voxels (look at sig then the ones for this mod) maybe I'll get better, who knows?

Yes, I'll fix the shore errors in pic 2

Landmass Landrush:
Players: 2-8
Resources=Plentiful
Area=large
Type=Islands
Description:
A pair of large central islands, lnked by a single bridge, hold the starting positions of up to eight players. There are further Islands to the north and south of the two large ones which may contain rewards for keen explorers...

There is one airfield on each island (located centrally) and on the left there is a machine shop wheras on the right there is a tech hospital. I find the person who garrisons the central village/town has an advantage.

It'll be up for download with the alpha release (which I'm going to spend the Next two weeks of my life on, so expect it to be not perfect but not bug ridden). And yes, like the mod I'm improving this map to.

(Jumps into slit trench, dons flak jaket and waits for bombardment of criticism, then jumps out and startsmodding again).

Two things i'd change. The lighting, and building style. Lighting doesn't look special at all, and the buildings look weird(The airport in a civilian town, for example..). I'd say make an airfield there, put in a strip, some C-130s chillin down there, maybe a civilian plane.

The farm land country areas look cute, and you do have shore errors (obviously). Fix those up too.

Looks OK for a first, though I would add way more details and trees. Use different types of terrain like sand, dark grass, rough grass etc. Rough grass would definately look good here imo, and put some sand around some of the shore to make the beaches less even. You could make some dips in the ground instead of just hills.

And yeah, I don't think the first pics buildings look right. The buildings look too urban compared to the wooden houses, and the fact they are in the middle of nowhere.

There's an airfield on the coast of the eastern island, the troble is I got bored and rigged it with barrels to blow sky friggin' high, I'm going to change that though... And maybe move one of the airfield buildings over there instead of it's position near the town.

Nice map, needs some more variation at the ground. And about the shore:
use autpshore, then dissable it, and hand-craft some areas. That way, you can make it fast and good Very Happy

I've fixed the shore and started adding terrain variation, the airfields are done and I've re-made one town (left island) and am in the process of doing the other.

I'll have updates for ya later tomorrow (my tommorow, BST or GMT+1)

Oh yea, do include those tiny cute litte gunslinging civvvies!

(Perhaps add in a coast guard tower, some towels and umbrellas, and swimsuit ppl. Good targets for practice training, rofl. Perhaps coast guard boats lurking around too?)

I could agree to one coastguard boat and a few of those little towers but this place isn't a holiday resort so there'll be no huge hotels or loads of sunbathers.

But a few texan guys with pistols? Yeah, I can see that.

STATUS:
Airfields done, civvie towns remade, more height variation added, need to add some differerent groundstuffs (Rough grass, rocky ground) And fix a few shore errors not on the main islands. Then it'll be done and you guys can see more screens.
