Subject description: the map maker the game

Basically, I bought Battlefeild 2142 like a month ago, and the game does not come with a map maker, nor is there one on the web. The only way to create custum maps would be to buy Battlefeild 2, and use that map maker and edit it somehow so that you can use it for b2142. So, would you say say that b2 is worth getting as a game in itself(is there single player beyond mp practise?)? Do you think it would be worth getting b2 for the sole purpose of making maps for b2142 (if you want to play the map online, how would you ever distribute it!?!) And secondly, has anyone made a map using the maker for either game, as to tell me if there is a large learning curve or not.

Basically I want to make some maps that fix some of the problems I have with the current maps (I have my opinions, and I would like to see them executed).

The game itself is worth getting. It's really fun (even though the SP map size is limited to 16...)
And to answer your second question: I've tried the mapmaker, but I found it much too difficult. You really need some 3D skills for that Wink

It comes with a map maker? I've had BF2 a long time and I had no idea. I really cant find it anywhere in the game files.

idk if it comes with it, the forums at EA all say it has one, and I was a ble to download something called the battlefeild 2 map maker, but when I tried to install it it said "you don't have battlefeild 2 installed". So try the googles.

Yeah I'd get it, it may be harder to rank up and it has less unlockables. But it has better gameplay and requires better tactics.

Is there an actual campaign on it or does it just have skirmish? Either way I'd probably just be getting it to make maps. I have so many games I don't even play a tenth of them. But it would be cool to make some decent maps, especially some small Halo like ones, and maybe even a few Renegade maps. I think I have a ten buck gift card left over from something...

No campaign. A real campaign and the name 'Battlefield' is a very unlikely combination #Tongue
