I Don't really know any decent cameo tutorials, but I really don't recommend making cameo's using the cameo generator built in SHP builder. The only tutorial I can remember is this one which is about making cameos in Photoshop.

Thanks Aro, that was agood suggestion. I checked the recommended tutorial: really good stuff. Thanks.
But since I don't own Photoshop I'm wondering if I have to buy a copy
in order to create good cameos. Is that worth it ?

Photoshop is worth it in general, not just to make cameos. Photoshop is your best option for making cameos in my opinion, thats how I make all mine, but Photoshop gives you the ability to do so much more. Just check the Photoshop website to see all the additions it gives to your image editing.
