Mammoth Tank

Unit Stats
Strength: Heavy
Weapon: Dual Heavy Cannons & Light Missiles
Advanced Weapon: N/A
Speed: Slow
Requires: Tech Building

Description:
This is the last model of Mammoth Tank produced ending production before the Second Tiberium War. Most of these units were scrapped and recycled for newer more modern equipment however some still remain in GDI hangars and storage facilities either awaiting their recycling proccess or simply kept as backup. They are armed with dual cannons and twin missiles which can target both infantry and air units.

Mammoth Tanks can be produced through capturing a specific tech building.

And why is it so flat? Looks weird when it's flat but long. Anyhow, the detail put to this unit is magnificent.

Oh, and one more thing. The missile pods seem to be facing downwards (when looked at the side of the tank) instead of upwards.

Is it just me, or is this thing plain ugly? X_x

voxel is cool and all, but the design... ugh! If this is supposed to be an "old mammoth tank" please at least make it look like the old mammoth tank. The "new and progressive designs" thing doesn't work on stuff that is supposed to be old. This thing looks like the bastard child of the C&C3 Mammoth and the RA2 Apocalypse tank.

It's not the TD Mammoth Tank, read the description, it's the last Mammoth Tank made in production. The voxel featured however has it's turret set too low currently, it is meant to be set higher, but not a lot higher.

EDIT: Edited initial title to avoid such confusion.

As far as I know, those were the type made before the Mark II.

Which was the Mark I.

The name Mammoth Mark II kinda implies that there have been no versions in between... otherwise it'd have been like, mark IV or something.

OK. You win, we just wanted to have a more varied Mammoth Tank that was not 30 years old, we are awful terrible people. Obviously due to a Mk II, there can be no other future improved variants. However the Mammoth MkII is a rather large step up for something as simple as a MkII variant, also it was never named the Mammoth Tank MkII Wink. Any suggestions then please, we are open to your ideas Nyer #Tongue.

By the way Fredrik, this Mammoth follows a lot of design from the Mammoth Tank MkI, covered tracks is also a feature, and they will remain.

BTW,modern tanks really are much lover then old ones,so thats good conception. Its harder to blow up a low tank.

I say,leave it this way.

I saw a war documentary a few years ago which said the lower the profile of the tank, the more protected it would be from any kind of assault, so you're quite right VEF. Smile

The tank looks good and works as an old GDI model. Smile

afaik the TD Mammoth was exactly called "X66 Mammoth". So this TO mammoth could be the X67 mammoth.
Just like in reality were the LeopardA1 was the first tank of the leopard series and the leopardA6 is the latest.

In the end, its just a mission-only-unit anyways. A pre-fixed stock to use and if theyre worn out, then theyre gone for good. So whats the deal? Very Happy

1 day, 22 posts, dang.

Eh, ignoring that, this is one fine looking tank, it is a shame that wont be buildable, I'd take a Mammoth Tank over any Mech, regardless the size, any day.

Its an interesting fusion of the CNC3 Mammoth Tank and the original Mammoth Tank, you got the retro missile launchers, CNC-3 turret, track style with a more classic barrel design.

The one thing that really bothers me is the lights in the front. I don't see the reason for having 8 lights on the front of the tank and two extra remap lights on the rear.

So basically the giant lights that are bigger than the barrels are so the owner can drive it to work monday through friday. I have never seen a tank crusing down the street in my life. Even so, the directionals need not be so large, even a 1 voxel light would do. But's it's your model, do with it what you want.

Perhaps TO has a theoritical concept of blinding infantry with the headlights. #Tongue

You sort of discovered TO's top secret weapon #Tongue. No really the lights were just to help identifying which side the unit is facing, and for simple looks.

EDIT updated description.

Hey, I do drive a tank to work? Do you not?

Nah, seriously now^^
Tanks are seldom driven on the streets if theyre driving on tracks. Granted. But take wheeled tanks as an example - they mostly do have directional lights and they often operate on the streets, too. Not in New Yourks Suburbans, no, but in Iraq e.g. they do currently.

Well in fact it could just have soo many reasons why this tank has directional lights, but in the end its still a game and the goal is also to have some nice-looking tanks. And they do look nice with headlights and stuff, I think.

Mmmh, I dont think that theire bigger than the barrels. Theire wider, yes, but not bigger.

Aside the matter that smaller lights would just not be seen, of course.

Actually, the ridiculous number of headlights is a major eyesore, and take away from the overall experience.

Especially saying each light is larger height and width-wise than what I would guess are 120mm Cannons.

No tank needs EIGHT headlights pointing all in the same direction, all in fairly random places.

And as for a vehicle that would have as retarded a headlight arrangement, please, link me to it.

I disagree, I think it needs more lights.

Replace the barrels with street lamps and replace the rocket pods with flood lights and it'll be perfect.

Just get the turret a little higher and boom - we have ourselves an impressive Mammoth Tank.

i like fat asses, make it just a bit older looking in giving it a fat engine ass that'll make it, the rest plus the tracks could still be flat, just give it a profile, or else it'll look like a chick without any ass.

Guys its very unlikely that there will be any changes to the mammoth since we are more after finally finishint the really crucial stuff - or dont you want to get your claws on TO soon but rather keep on waiting for screens?
The Mammoth looks fine. There are reasons why it looks like it looks and given the fact that it will NEVER please everyone there is no real point in cooking the whole tank up again to make a new one...
