All of the following suggestions came as needs while working with VSE and they suppose to speed up work and ergonomy:

1.swatches
That is - used colours/normals are in separate palette;

2.shortcut keys for all of the commands, especially for color picker, like ctrl+LMB picks color as LMB edits.

3.a command (could have a key bond as well) for editing the current layer based on the layer beneath; for example, when viewing in "cross section" mode, one to be able to use "color fill bucket" acting upon the current layer but taking as reference the layer beneath, the result being a portion similar to the under one. In some cases it's useful to "copy" a portion in this way and adjust it; likewise, color picker could be used to choose a color in the under layer.

4.a command for multilayer edit - edit in depth simultaneously 1-4 layers.

5.box-select a portion of layer and copy/paste.

6.export layer (cross-section) to bmp.

7.cut the section by x/y/z position and keep one half.

The following might exist and I'm not aware:

8.combine sections.

9.pan for 3d view

10.zoom/pan for 2d views.

11.paste a cross section/whole section at a specific location in the current section.

Zoom for 2D views exist. VXLSE III does have the magnify tool that does exactly that.

There is indeed the magnifying tool but I was talking about the other two 2d views.
About the keys I was thinking of doing myself some kind of executable batch that maps the keys to the menu commands and tools but it means another exe in the background and I'm not positive that I could do...
