C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux
Subject description: Discuss the C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Mod for C&C Generals Zero Hour here!
Remember the original Command & Conquer? Remember all the units, characters and themes from the game? Remember the gritty feeling of RTS Warfare? Remember Tiberium?
Well, that classic game from the early 90's that spawned over a dozen titles and revolutionized the RTS Gaming World has been reincarnated in the advanced 3D World of the C&C Generals Zero Hour SAGE 3D Game Engine and looks better than ever!
All the classic units and themes are back with changes and improvements over their originals, and one of the best video game soundtracks blasts in the background once again! And if that was not enough... the full motion videos of the mission briefings are here and that means that some of the missions from the intense story campaigns are back and are looking better than ever!!! But you can dish it out in a skirmish or multiplayer game to your hearts content, as this Mod does work in both modes!
We will also be undertaking a great challenge to making the graphics that the Zero Hour SAGE Engine had offered to a whole new level to resemble or even rival C&C3! While you are waiting on this massive update to be completed, you can go ahead and re-discover this classic game on the SAGE 3D Graphics Engine that C&C Generals Zero Hour is using in the current release of the Mod! Do not forget to look for the latest Mod patches as well! Plus with the current release there is some bonus content that allows you to explore events that occurred over the 35 years that went on after the First Tiberian War ended when Kane was presumed dead, including but not limited to the evolution of the two sides and the expansion of the secret subfactions that both sides had established during the First Tiberian War while also exploring in detail some of new units that were developed and tested by both sides which even include those that eventually evolved into becoming the main battle forces seen in the Second Tiberium War!

This mod seriously progressed a lot! I didn't really like it at the start, but it's really coming together now. Looking good _________________ QUICK_EDIT
Some of the stuff I knocked it for previously has been fixed/looked ugly in the screenies used. Unit designs are mostly faithful to their TD counterparts, infantry are quite useful and you gotta love the extortionate Abrams MG upgrade Worth it for an AA/AP turret though, well... kinda XD _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. Myers, you should get in touch with ferkhat. He's got plenty of high quality re-created TD buildings in 3DS format (If I remember correctly) and he's not using them anymore. Maybe he will donate them to you. QUICK_EDIT

and besides that, Woot! new bloom effects, because imho, PS 2.0 makes it look a tad bit too dark, Im not saying it's a bad thing, it made stuff look better! _________________ Please, I DON'T read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

We look forward to bringing you the latest version of the Mod for download at the end of the year.
I know you are using effects not native to the original engine (hdr lighting etc.) And its beautiful.
Are normal maps supported by Generals or can they engine be made to use them, because that would be AMAZING! _________________ You come for the modding but you stay for the Crap Forum. QUICK_EDIT

Plus, I can run Generals just fine, KW and RA3 crash after some time, and TW sometimes doesn't crash and sometimes does. _________________ ☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭☭

Another v1.3 Pre-Release Update
COMMAND & CONQUER TIBERIAN DAWN REDUX
VERSION 1.3 UPDATES:
This Mod uses never before seen visual effects with Pixel Shader 2.0
which includes Bloom Effects and detailed shadows, along with dynamic
fog and sunlight effects.
New terrain textures along with new high quality shrubbery, waterfalls, and various other nature props create beautiful realistic natural scenes in the in-game maps.
New environmental hazards which include terrain obscuring fog, volcanoes with lava that can destroy your forces who may encounter it or get too close, and deadly Tiberian based monsters such as Viceroids and Tiberium Ground Veins which can attack your forces randomly.
Several graphical, coding, and scripting bugs have been fixed and improved.
Most of the maps, models, model skins, and particle effects have been totally replaced or improved with stunning new details not seen in most C&C Generals Mods. This includes fully 3D animating wheels and treads on vehicle models, enhanced shadowing, enhanced sun/moon lighting effects, reflective water, dynamic fog and weather effects, new terrain, bump mapped textures, and much much more!
Audio details have been improved with new sounds and effects.
Improvements and fixes have been made to the single player missions and with several of the skirmish maps that previously had various bugs.
The in-game user interface has been updated with new textures and also includes new text fonts, team/player color selections, and mouse cursors.
Over 40 all new skirmish/multiplayer maps made by both our development team and by various members of the C&C Community!
The Nod Black Hand has a new vehicle known simply as the "Microwave Tank". This experimental vehicle shoots a powerful microwave beam that cooks infantry and it can also disable vehicles
and buildings while doing a small amount of damage to them.
GDI's Task Force Talon Special Forces Unit has a new base defense, the "Vulcan Turret". This is a Beta to the Component Tower Vulcan Cannon Turret well known in Tiberian Sun. It is useful for taking out infantry, light vehicles, and even aircraft.
Damn you. I have to fix Generals. This is a very nice Christmas present and I look forward to blowing the hell out of Noddies for the Holidays.
Can we play as regular GDI and Nod without the power suits and crap? I'm assuming these are all subfactions, right? Is the AI working? _________________ Victory! QUICK_EDIT
