What do I need exactly to mod generals?

I want to start modding Generals and by looking around it looks like I'll need OS Big editor, GMax, and I think it was Ren-X. Is this correct or do I need other things as well? and where would I find this Ren-X thingy? and does it have to be Gmax? can I use 3dmax?

I did some more researhing and pretty sure I have everything I need, except for is there a C&C W3D exporter for 3dsMax?

Hello!

To start modding Generals you'll need:

Big editor to open BIG files and extract them to your games directory. - FinalBig is recomendable

Gmax with Renx - in order to model & export models as a W3D(model file of CnC Generals) - 3ds max is more recomendable.

Notepad, to edit INI files.

Yes you can use 3ds max, but the exporter will works only with 3ds Max 7 or 8
