OK, not as simple as just exporting a model in Gmax/RenX to a W3D file.

My problem is that I have detached all the faces from one another in order to texture them, as one of the tutorials on texturing for Generals said. Now that I have finished the texture to enough satisfaction to want to see it ingame, I'm unable to properly export the model as a W3D.
I use the export function, which works for the model, but when I try to import the W3D model again, I get a blank scene - totally sans model.

Obviously, I'm missing something or have made some variety of error. I would appreciate any assistance Smile

importing the w3d messes it up. The best thing you should do is save the scene in renX, and then when you want to make changes, do it to that, not your w3d. For me, getting a w3d was always as simple as resizing and renaming, and simply exporting. I however, don't do textures #Tongue
