Anyone know any good tutorials for reskinning/creating infantry?

Haven't been modding for a while but I need to get past this. I remember the best and most logical way to make infantry for generals is to reskin or add your model to the bones.

I haven't really investigated this much, but reskinning a model in RenX is extremely easy. I forget which window exactly, but you simple click and drag the new texture over the old one and RenX takes care of the rest. I use this for easy Normal->Damaged models, but for infantry it might be a little trickier.

ive yet to reskin any-thing properly however a crude method i have used is that is i take an w3d and use a hex editor to change which tga the w3d model looks for (of course it has to be almost identical when it comes to lay out but it works for a quick texture change which you dont want to effect excisting units)

Also if you are looking for more infantry have at the generals files i posted a link to over at cnc-comm, there are afew beta w3d and textures for infantry in there

Cool, so it shouldn't be so hard.

The problem I have, is actually getting the W3D infantry to work ingame properly. They lose the skin after I pull them out from the generals files. Which W3D files should I work on? Theres so many just for one infantry.

After importing them to RenX they get a wierd box and sh^t around them. The animation also doesn't work properly ingame.

So anyone know where I can get tutorials?

Try this tutorial.
I tried it before, and it's pretty hard if you don't know how your tools work. It should explain most stuff.
