1. Do you think there is a way to create a cover system in generals for units? Say for example giving a wall a small area around it that will add armour to the units next to it whilst they are in the said area?

2. Can the ground be scared perminently?

Does it slow the cpu down if there are lots of craters and scorch marks? does it replace the area it hits, or does it add a layer like a road?

3. Is there a limit to the amount of different locomotors you can have in the game?

.....

1. Not so sure about the cover system, but you could probably make something like the Propaganda tower? instead of Healing I suppose you could try and get it to change the armor, I honestly don't know.

2. I don't believe so.

3. It would depend on the CPU. and I think it just places a Scorch mark that disappears after awhile.

4. I'm not sure, I know there is a lot of locomotors, so.. As Dafool says, "Keep adding till it crashes"

1. I think the best you could do would be to make trench like structures on the ground and have them be garrisoned like the US Firebase? If there was a way to give armor like a status we'd already have an iron curtain

2. the tag for this would probably be in gamedata.ini

3. We haven't run into any problems with too many locomoters in IC yet.

Lawl, Dafool,
Would it be possible to have craters do Actual damage to the map like in World in Conflict?
Like, when the Nuke hit's
it leaves a nice Crater deep in the ground.

Cool thanks.

Man there must be a way to scar the ground perminently without slowing things down.

Like make it just change the tile it hits so basically you place a new terrain tile when you shoot the ground. Shouldn't that be easily done? It'd make a big difference to a mod I think. Will be awsome for the atmosphere I want.

IIRC there was an interesting video published from one Gens mod or another (Shockwave, if I remember correctly), which showed a glitch caused by the USA moneycrate drop defoming the ground... But I believe that was a glitch and a glitch only, and has never been replicated for any useful effect.

That's the only things which comes to mind when you ask about terrain deformation in Generals - I don't believe that anything like TS' 'feature' has ever been tried, let alone successfully implemented.

Who knows, you might be the first #Tongue

The problem with ground deformation (example of which I saw when Floating Fortresses were destroyed in IC) is not that it lower the ground - but the ground becomes mostly inaccessible and if it goes below the water level of the map - filled with water. Which doesn't make sense much of the time.

Nope.

Nope. Game automaticly removes scorch marks when there are too many on the battlefield. This solves the problem you mentioned in 3.
4. Is there a limit to the amount of different locomotors you can have in the game?
If there's a limit, I think it will be the same as the Upgrade limit (which is 128).
