Another set of question... about possibilities
Subject description: I'd be eternaly greatfull for your answers. There are a lot this time.
Yo
1: this might be too far fetched but do you think it will be possible to carry over specific units from mission to mission? So you build up your army and its experience points through the single player campaign.
2: more realistc idea: I heard that the RA style interface with it being on the side instead of the bottom is possible? Is it?
3: Can the civilian faction be powered? Like can they have buildings dependant on power. Say like a sign post with vedio or lights or something. So if you blow up the power plants the sign post would switch off?
4: Can there be blood for units. It should be possible just add blood splatter to their death animation right? Asking just incase I try in vain.
5: Can the length of dead units bodies/chassis that stay after death be increased or to a point where they have be shot at again to be destroyed? Also If I get this right I wonder if when an infantry unit dies and a body is left will that body block other infantry or vehicles. hmmm
6: How fast is the max speed of units in the game? I can remember in TS it was 100 or something. It would be cool to make strike jets that you call from offmap to fly by extreamly fast. I wonder if they would even attack at that speed. Would be cool though...
7: Lastly how many veterancy levels can you get, and can the points needed to get to each rank be changed? QUICK_EDIT
1: Really not sure
2: Yes, entirely possible. Although, you have to remember that the game doesn't draw the spot where the command bar usually is unless it has been minimized using that big arrow.
3: Again, I have no experience, but I'd say that the civilian buildings should be able to work in the same way as any other faction - though it'd be a guess based on sensibleness.
4: Not a problem, you can add blood anywhere.
5: It can, but it'll add unnecessary polys to a battlefield and may eventually slow things down
6: Absolutely no idea
7: Also, no idea. QUICK_EDIT

Can't be done iirc.
2: more realistc idea: I heard that the RA style interface with it being on the side instead of the bottom is possible? Is it?
Very well possible, but it has some small bugs iirc.
3: Can the civilian faction be powered? Like can they have buildings dependant on power. Say like a sign post with vedio or lights or something. So if you blow up the power plants the sign post would switch off?
Structures on low power become dark and display the 'low power' sign above it. The only thing that can be done is disable certain model animations.
4: Can there be blood for units. It should be possible just add blood splatter to their death animation right? Asking just incase I try in vain.
Very well possible.

You can increase the length of dead units, but I doubt you can make them turn into obstacles. Maybe you can, but I doubt it would come to the good of pathfinding...

Pff, good question. Well, I do know that you can make units so fast that they can hop from one part of the map to another in a sec. If there's a limit, I dunno.
7: Lastly how many veterancy levels can you get, and can the points needed to get to each rank be changed?
Dunno if possible.
ExperienceValue = 140 140 280 560 ; Experience point value at each level
ExperienceRequired = 0 420 700 1400 ; Experience points needed to gain each level
IsTrainable = Yes ; Can gain experience
The levels are hardcoded (normal, veteran, elite, and heroic).
As for the unit retention thing, you could make a really big map, just make it one mission, and play with the borders _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

1: never seen before, but maybe the baikonur mission holds an answer: there's a railed transport there, and i believe it went from on map to another, not sure about this...
2: is possible, bug is that generals thinks it's still at the bottom, so ingame you'll have to tell the game to hide it.
3: try it, logicly thinking says yes, but i wouldn't know really.
4: yes, it can.
5: delete the delete module and they'll stay forever, two problems:
-these bodies tend to draw fire,
-units can run into them and push them away,
though i think both of the above can be sortof fixed.
6: dunno, but over 2000, that was my Aurora, that's actually about as fast as a visible unit can go. Still Shockwaves chrono orb goes 99999 or something like that, so you can go pretty fast.
7: see "expanded wars federation rising" they have about 10 ranks?, as for the points see rank.ini, and then change "SkillPointsNeeded". (that's player ranks) for unit ranks dunno about rank amout, for the experience needed= yes, see under the cost fields experience required and experiencevalue. QUICK_EDIT
For your Command Bar/interface it's possible, i've done it before, and found a way to "work-around the bug"
you just make the "arrow" buttons click space, large enough to tkae up the whole screen [it's invisible] and with one click [at each start of a game] the black bar will disappear, cause the "button" would've been pushed.
I've made the interface's before, very simple tbh. at least, I find it simple. -not a master, I just know the basics to manipulate it how I want- QUICK_EDIT

That's exactly how I've done it, myself. QUICK_EDIT
When I saw your post Orac, I wanted to push the "Like" button.
-Tsk Tsk.
And Yea.. I learned of that technique from one of the RA Mods fo Generals, that's how the modder did it there, i just adapted the technique QUICK_EDIT
