Phoenix Revisited
(6)

Relocating survivors from Arizona into a small town proved a simpler task than expected for the Global Defence Initiative, and made New Phoenix a small scale prototype for GDI's planned supercities.  The relatively low intensity of Tiberium contamination made it an obvious location for a township, but recent incursions of the explosive, bulbous variety of Lura-like fona may soon put this status in jeopardy.  Composed of a small farming enclave defended from Tiberium and combat by a Firestorm wall, the self sufficiency of such a project was first tested here.  While this self sufficiency was not so present when GDI finally came to construct their first Supercity at Oslo, many lessons learned here were brought over. Phoenix formed the first formal link on the Transmexican Superhighway, which crosses the old US/Mexico border only a few miles south.

I think some dynamic lighting would make this map more atmospheric and interesting, especially noticeable in the bland expanses of water.

The little bostic tower out on the island is a little random

But overall the map design and layout seems nice

This is one of my old maps, and has undergone some minor edits (such as the addition of some blue light posts in the water, some of the cliffs were made more interesting, and a little bit of lat stuff to break up expanses of clear) since this compilation was taken.

And that tower was clearly Joe Bostic's secret lair.
