Infantry graphics
Time for a new poll
This time it's about the infantry images.
Which shall be used?
The original ones from TD? They are very tiny, especially at a resolution of 800x600 and above. But they give a nostalgic feeling, and their size is very realistic compared to the buildings and vehicles. And they look funny somehow, especially the civilians.
Or the ones from RA1 (Win95 version)? They're the same images, but resized, so they aren't that tiny. However the image quality is not that good due to the resizing.
Third option: Simple, leaving it as it currently is (a mix of TS and RA2 infantry shps).
4th option: Using resized Ra2 images only, as suggested by some people.
5th option is for those who just don't care about it
So vote away (this time I'll give my own vote, too ) QUICK_EDIT

I suggest you to try to redo them, but I am aware that this means a very huge ammount of work...
yes, 'very huge amount' is the right description. I mean, every infantry has up to 660 images (though lots of them aren't actually used in-game).
2nd problem is, that I'm not that good at 2D things. But maybe I could take the RA1 shps and try to resample them, you know, making them less 'edgy'. Still, that would be a lot of work also.

Even though TD and RA1 infantry are not only exactly the same size, but exactly the same images!
hm, I should have written 'RA1 (Win95 version)'

For some mods RA1 size infantry is cool, how about a mix of RA1/TD infantry and resized TibSun infantry (which are made to RA1/TD sizes)
best of both worlds eh... you could even resize some RA2 infantry if u wanted and decreased them down to RA1 size
I'll look into it. I think I'll post some screenshots to compare TD infantry, ra1 infantry and resized ra2 infantry when I got everything together. QUICK_EDIT
like mentioned earlier, find some SHPs infantry (TS/RA2) available on the Net, resized them down a bit by maybe 10%-15%(assuming it's already in TS original size) and there you have, infantry which are to scale with buildings and good quality too, just make sure you have PSP8 coz you can use the auto-script tool to resize the hundreds of frames... as you know XCC MIxer resize function is a mess _________________ ::TSR Home-Grown Vxl Maker::

Since everyone has voted for the TD ones and the resize function of XCC Mixer has been fixed for the new version I've decided to take the images from TD and resize them to RA1 (Win95 version) size, they still look better than those from RA95. QUICK_EDIT

RA1 DOS and RA1 Win95 infantry are exactly the same graphics
Not at all. The DOS ones are the same size as the C&C1 ones. The RA95 infantry is resized.
I managed to convert the C&C1 Commando to RA95 size, so it isn't that hard. It's just plain resized and then cropped back to its original shp dimensions.
If anyone's interested... this gives the exact resized area and dimensions:

The inner (blue) area is resized to the total size of the frame. That's all. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
