Just thought it might be handy for you modders out there who wants to use the RA2 anims instead of TS anims...

I don't see how it's cartoony. It has great dirt effects(if that's what you call it) more polished then TS's explosions.

erm, i beg to differ on that one

TS's explosions are actual REAL explosions video'd and put into TS

RA2's explosions are made on an art program of some sort

RA2 explosions arent too bad, but compared to TS's explosions they do (and infact are) cartoony

Possibly youve got this impression from the fact TS's explosions have a translucency value which may make them look less polished. For many of the explosions (not all) i have removed the Translucency from them, as they look far better and believe it or not do not hog the proccessor as much

i can even spot 3 explosions used by WW in the preview

1 was used extenisvly ingame and the 2 others are only seen in the earliest beta shots

theres probably others there too but ive only just skimmed it

the skull is cool! it looks evil and suits crazy ivans personality. the terrorist is also cool because kini nuke but i suppose it just comes down to wether you like realistic or cartoony. I prefer anime style stuff but they would look stupid with 'boom!' printed on them in agame so the second best is cartoon.
for games that are supposed to be realistic(ish) like MOH i would prefer real stuf. But since RA2 isnt realistic (big huge V3 rockets)...

Actually RA2 explosions are fairly realistic cept for the cartoonyness, because they have the black smoke in them which would come from melting of plastic, and other stuff, the TS explosions are clean explosions that you would only really see from setting some C4 on an open area of cement.

ts looked way more realistic when a base was attacked. lots of fire, debris flying around, craters and smudges. something that ra2 and generals didnt seem to have. i will add these fx to tiberian twilight evolution

theres adebris SHP of a guy flying through the air in RA2. i put it in my mod but it hardly ever works.
