So I found this little gem, X Rebirth, at Target for only 20 bucks... I'm not gonna lie this is an amazing game. I had never heard of it before, but after a couple hours of gameplay, I think this has the potential to take the Mass Effect 3 from the top spot on my list of all time favorite games. This game is good. REALLY good. I don't know anything about the X universe, but I'm definitely gonna find out really quick.

Anyone else played it?

I played X2 the Threat for quite a while and also modded this game.
Not sure if X Rebirth is covering the X Universe story and how it fits in. When i played X2, many suggested that you play X as well so you know better how Earth, Xenon and all the other Races belong to each other.

Graphically was X2 already really impressive, but those newer X series games are some really nice eye-candy. Like the CryEngine in space.

X2 was only singleplayer, does X Rebirth now has online multiplayer?



Does anyone has already experience with Star Citizen? I think this can come quite close to X as well and as a big fan of old 1995 "Privateer 2 the Darkening", i'm still searching for a nice successor.

X-Rebirth was super super promising, but bombed hard when it was released it was nothing more than a buggy mess with VERY awkward models & animations.

I'm not up to date about the X series anymore, but in the past, Egosoft had an excellent support. Even normal players/modders like me could join their dev-forum after signing their NDA and report bugs/improvement suggestions and check their newest work. Due to this forum, X2 saw many bugfixes and improvements even a long time after its release and after the next X games were already released.
So it would surprise me if they don't plan to fix those bugs.
