Subject description: New BB code to shake the foundations of PPM!

We have a new BB code in this forum, in order to make it more compatible with news coming from ModDB:

Spoiler (click here to read it):
The spoiler feature works exactly like quote, except that it hides the information. Once you click at the text above, be ready: it reveals all spoilers at once.

In order to use it, use it in the exactly same way you use the quote BB code.

Key Words: #Spoiler #BBCode #Forum #News #PPMForums

Finally, this was something I found missing from this forum after I got used to this everywhere else.

Just wondering, if you click one, are they all supposed to be opened?
Our beloved friend zlixine is using them and when I click to open one, they all open.
IIRC in the crap forum, if someone quoted a spoiler-ed post, they would also collapse.

So, yes, that behavior is expected and it was really implemented in this way. Making it detect the particular spoiler classed element that is supposed to appear or disappear, in a forum template, is a complicated mission.

Would it be complicated?

I have not looked into how these forums are set up, but would they happen to be some thing like div containers, with javascript functions added to  on-click?

So, just make a new div and javascript function for each one. And when there being developed just name the div container and function sequentially...

I have done this before on some thing else...

I also posted this in hopes I have not forgotten or did not know some thing for the project I worked on...

I need an element with a unique id, based in the amount of times that it shows up. The problem is that this kind of information you won't acquire in a forum template. Perhaps I could make a javascript that changes the ID of some elements in real time and changes their onclick parameter to match it...

I don't see the problem.
Hundreds of forums have spoilers working without any issue.

Why not use the spoiler everybody uses? With a proper button and stuff, that one.
Do you have to use a JavaScript spoiler? IIRC there are PHP variants as well.

PHP is just server-side language...

JavaScript is client side (browser)...

PHP would just result in JavaScript as far as I know...

PHP echos html/JavaScript...(others)...

If it was just php, IE click button reload entire page... kind of silly..

I fail to see what we need spoilers for aside from compatibility of cross-posting...?
